All accidents related to work activity should be recorded in the company accident book for future reference.  This is both good practice for minor incidents, where the casualty returned to work straight away, but also for accidents requiring hospital treatment or significant time of work, a RIDDOR requirement.

The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 set out the essential aspects of first aid that employers have to address, and Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations (2013) covers, as the title suggests, reporting and recording of accidents and injuries.
