  • A safety management system (SMS) will facilitate the management of an organisation’s health and safety risks.
  • Legal, economic and moral aspects should all be considered when aiming to reduce health and safety risks.
  • A health and safety competent person should be assigned to provide advice and guidance on the creation and maintenance of the organisational health and safety management system.
